GOOD NEWS!

The problem, result and solution!

The Problem

Have you ever lied or cheated? Have you ever taken something that didn’t belong to you? If we are honest, we all have.

The Bible calls this sin. Sin came into this world through our original parents, Adam and Eve. We also are sinners by nature and our actions. The Bible therefore says “no one is good—no one in all the world is innocent.” (Romans 3:10).

God is perfect and sin can’t exist in his presence.  Therefore, the penalty for sin is death.  The Bible puts it this way, “for the wages of sin is death..” (Romans 6:23). Sin causes death and eternal separation from God.

Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do for ourselves that will earn God’s favour and avoid eternal separation from God. God is holy and just and must punish sin. What a hopeless situation.

The Result

God is also loving and wants us to be in an eternal relationship with him.  Only God can make a way for us to be with him. Only God can pay the penalty for our sin.

God did this by sending his Son. The Lord Jesus Christ became a human and paid the penalty for our sin by his death on the cross.

The Bible says even though “the wages of sin is death” that the “free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

In a world filled with bad news and no hope, God provides the solution.

The Bible says “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Romans 5:8.

The Solution

The Bible is clear that eternal life is a gift. A free gift from God. But, like all gifts it needs to be received. One of the Bible’s best-known verses is John 3:16. “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son so that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Do you want to experience God’s forgiveness, his peace and an eternal relationship with him? You must confess that you are a sinner and receive God’s free gift of salvation.
